Note
[edit]There once was a Template:Welsh dogs, which was discussed in support for merging alongside Scottish and English dogs into Template:British dogs. Therefore there may not be a consensus for a separate template again. And may need a new discussion. Ofc, consensus can change. DankJae 20:21, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- I think there is room for both Template talk:Dog breeds originating in Wales and Template:British dogs to exist alongside each other. Titus Gold (talk) 20:36, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- There could be potential for forming a wider template such as Template: Animals originating in Wales Titus Gold (talk) 20:37, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- While you indeed may think so, the consensus at the time was merge, but idk. Others may argue for a merge again so be aware, that's all. DankJae 20:48, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure for Animals originating in Wales, first what does that mean? Breeds are a sub-set of animal, not a entirely different species. And why specifically Wales? Animals rarely respect human borders and unlikely to fully originate in Wales only, it at least would be GB-wide. Only case I can support such a template is if there is a Great Britain wide template that really needed splitting over length concerns. Does any other "animals originating in" templates exist? - Yes I am aware that dog breeds are all the same species, I was referring to breeds I suppose. Template: Animal breeds from Wales would probably be a better option, could include all dog, sheep, cattle breeds that originate from Wales. Titus Gold (talk) 21:18, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
