Changed image
[edit]The new image is not a change for the better, in my opinion, because:
- It takes up more space in the template's "infobox" than did the the previous icon.
- It shows a player in period costume, not reflecting a generality of violinistic topics.
- The previous minimal B&W image showed a scroll with a peg, an ear, and an eye. The scroll is unmistakably emblematic of the violin.
The new image qualifies, in my opinion, as non-data ink or chartjunk, basically decoration for decoration's sake, in a place where the imagery is meant to convey information instead of being a distraction. The previous image did a better job of conveying "violin topic" without extra frills. __ Just plain Bill (talk) 20:45, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
