Regarding random addition
[edit]Hi Kautilya3 Could you please check this template which article should be in. User:KartikMistry is inclined to add articles randoms without giving proper justification. Moreover WP:RS does not state that violence was against X no. of Hindus or state majority was Hindus.--Isak.lund (talk) 07:40, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- Also, why article Godhra train burning name in the template was changed? --Kartik Mistry talk 07:44, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
- Name of Godhra train burning name kept as it is. Thanks for notifying me.--Isak.lund (talk) 08:06, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
Adding Events to the list
[edit]Background: These events were originally in the list for many years until someone did random mass removal without proper justification.
proposal 1: Adding [Dabgarwad massacre] to the list Base on RS information, All the victims of [Dabgarwad massacre] are hindus and accused are non-hindus.
proposal 2: Adding [2006 Varanasi bombings] to the list Base on RS information, Varanasi is the holy city for hindus and bombing targeted hindu temples.
proposal 3: Adding [Murder of Swami Lakshmanananda] to the list Base on RS information, Attack happened on a hindu holiday and target are all hindus: hindu monastery, hindu monk and hindu devotees. Event had large ramification.
proposal 4: Adding [2015 Nadia riots] to the list Base on RS information, All victims are hindu dalits and accused are noHindus. Event also highlights media self censorship.

- Once again, the inclusion of events needs to be based, strictly, on whether reliable sources describe the incidents as violence against Hindus. Any other criterion is original research. Vanamonde (Talk) 22:28, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

Vanamonde93,I would like to know your views on which one's yo agree and one's disagree to include in the list. AryaGyaan (talk) 22:41, 12,October 2021 (UTC)
- @AryaGyaan:, it is insufficient for the victims of violence to be Hindu for an incident to be included in this list. The topic of this list is religious violence targeted at Hindus. For incidents to be included here, they need to be described as such by reliable sources. Very many incidents of violence have victims who are Hindu, but where their religion is incidental to the violence. For instance; the first incident you link is described as militant violence by this source, but it implies that the violence was a result of the Bodo separatist movement, and does not say it was religious. I am not going to investigate each of your events for you; the onus is on you to demonstrate the need for inclusion. And the text of Wikipedia's articles are not good enough sources, because they have frequently been stuffed with original research by POV pushers of all stripes. Also, you're just repeating yourself about Exodus of Kashmiri Hindus; it's not an incident of violence, and does not belong in this list. The phenomenon is properly covered at Persecution of Hindus. Vanamonde (Talk) 17:23, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- I believe the '90 exodus to belong here. The issue with linking our article is that it provides something of a longue durée history. TrangaBellam (talk) 12:10, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- Well, I disagree. Navboxes like this are questionable even when they're defined narrowly: when we beging to broaden the definition of what they can include, they can spiral completely out of control. If it were up to me, I would not have novboxes except when we have a large set of articles that are genuine spinoffs of a single subject: unfortunately the community thinks otherwise. But we should at least keep them to a reasonable scope. In this case, the navbox is about incidents of violence; if we start including the effects of that violence, we no longer have a clearly defined scope. Vanamonde (Talk) 15:27, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- What exactly should be the scope of the article? The current list looks like an arbitrary collection of terrorist incidents, a murder and a couple riots. Most of the linked articles also seem to be in need of a cleanup/checking for verification. Tayi Arajakate Talk 20:12, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- A lot of those articles are certainly a mess, largely because nobody who is willing to read all the sources has bothered trying to clean them up. I've done a couple, over the years, but I'm generally too busy to go through them systematically. In my mind the scope is pretty obvious; incidents of violence in which Hindus were targeted on the basis of their religion. Whether all of the listed incidents fall into this category isn't obvious, at least in part because many of the articles haven't been cleaned up, as I said. But that's not a reason to keep in articles that obviously don't fit this scope. Vanamonde (Talk) 16:22, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Proposal-Adding more Events to the list
[edit]- 1983 Dhilwan bus massacre,1987 Lalru bus massacre are both massacres of Punjabi Hindus by Khalistani Terroists. This was done to create fear among hindus of Punjab and drive them out of Punajab.
- 2016–17 Targeted killings in Punjab, India, targeted killings of hindu leaders by khalistani militants.
- 2018 Tinsukia killings,is massacre of 6 Bengali Hindus by separatist ULFA(Independendant) on the suspicion of Hindu Groups supporting controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill.
- 2005 Ram Janmabhoomi attack is a terrorist attack done by Islamic Terrorists.**
- Godhra train burning is attack on hindu pilgrims by muslim mob which resulted in death of 59 hindu pilgrims. court convicted a group of 31 Muslim individuals for the incident and the conspiracy for the crime.
- Hojai riots, resulted in vandalization of 23 temples by muslim mob as mentioned in the page.
- 2016 Kaliachak riots, muslim mob attacked hindu shops and hindu temples as mentioned in the page.
- We have been over many of these before. You need to demonstrate that reliable sources generally characterize these incidents as religious violence targetting Hindus. Not just incidents where Hindus were among the victims; not just incidents of religious violence where the perpetrators were non-Hindus. The sourcing in those articles is awful, and does not support the additions here. Indeed, many of the incidents already included do not have adequate sourcing either.
