I have contested the speedy deletion of this userbox. The text, translated from Albanian, reads: "Origin of this user is Illyria" It is no more offensive than "This user is from Grover's Mill, New Jersey."
Illyria was the classical name for present-day Albania, although Illyria was not defined geographically as precisely as present-day Albania. The Illyria article also points out: "The land of Illyria is the setting for William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, Jean-Paul Sartre's Les Mains Sales and in Lloyd Alexander's The Illyrian Adventure," all of which might encourage some people who are not ethnic Albanians to claim a link with historical or fictional Illyria. Any article about the Balkans - and now any userbox - seems to cause controversy. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 14:02, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
