[edit]The template was recently changed to reflect yesterday's election results. While the idea is good, none of these people have taken office yet. The change is still a bit premature. Gentgeen 08:11, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Request
[edit]I would like to suggest that a "territories" section be added to the template which would include: Puerto Rico, Guam, The U.S. Virgin Islands and the American Samoas. I believe that this would be the proper thing to do. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:22, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- I have already made this suggestion to User:Pr4ever, whom I know would like to see these included. I am guessing that he'll get it done soon. (Though I don't personally necessarily agree that it would be "the proper thing to do".) Unschool 21:06, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
Use and custom by National Association of Secretaries of States (NASS)
[edit]My impression is that PR4ever is on the right track. NASS lists Puerto Rico after PA and before RI. If the Secretaries of State themselves treat PR with equality (remember, a Puerto Rican actually chairs that organization), editors should not try to impose their own points of view. What's wrong with listing PR alphabetically? Their top Cabinet official is called Secretary of State, not Secretary of Territory or whatever, and it's easier to find alphabetically. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.151.1.116 (talk) 00:55, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Is there any objection to incorporating the Secretaries of State from DC and the territories in this template? I would find it ridiculous having to create another template for "Secretaries of State of territories and the federal district of the United States" or some absurd such thing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.166.199.254 (talk) 10:57, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Inclusion of certain lieutenant governors
[edit]I've added six lieutenant governors to the navbox (User:Fitnr appears to have already added Shan Tsutsui) for jurisdictions that do not have a Secretary of State. NASS already includes those lieutenant governors on their roster of Secretaries of State (with the exception of the CNMI, which is not mentioned at all on their website).
