Chronology

[edit]

Some of the positions which are identified in this chart were only created in the late 19th century, in the Bakumatsu period. Maybe it makes sense to add dates to those later additions in order to distinguish them from positions which were consistent throughout the years of the shogunate? Just a thought? --Tenmei (talk) 15:48, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This could be added -- Kyoto Shugoshoku (1862-1868)? --Tenmei (talk) 04:28, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Citations support

[edit]

Further research has caused me to make edits to the original template I copied in large part from the Biographical Dictionary of Japanese History. My most recent edits have included a cite reference in the edit summary -- pointing to Murdock to explain why the Sakai bugyo is identified as a kind of sub-set or sub-branch of the Kyoto shoshidai, for example. I wonder if there is a better or more preferred way to make this kind of information plain in the context of a template? --19:43, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
