OK, RickK is long gone. Isn't it about time to just rename this one to The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar? - ALLST☆R echo 09:31, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've got to agree... his account was supposedly compromised and permablocked anyway (extra-awkward considering this is an anti-vandalism Barnstar). It's a bit too weird and hasn't aged well as a name. I've avoided using it because of the association... so back to the original barnstar or CVU Award. --Bobak (talk) 13:46, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, RickK was recently show to have had sockpuppets. Naming an anti-vandalism barnstar after a sockpuppetteer is quite out of place. Nimman (talk) 13:02, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agree that this needs a more neutral name. See Wikipedia:Barnstars. The only other one with a username attached to it is Newyorkbrad. The difference here though is NYB is very much an active editor, and is a current admin. I'd guess most active Wikipedians have heard of him. The only reason I, and most people who aren't from 2005 know about RickK is because of that barnstar. He stormed off in the summer of 2005 and hasn't been back since, apart from when his account was apparently hacked. What kind of example is that to set to anyone? – How do you turn this on (talk) 23:50, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Those sockpuppet accusations... Is their a checkuser in the house? What are these supposed sockpuppets anyways? This is calling someone guilty until proven innocent. I think the name should stay as is. P.S. On Tfd I said it used to be the anti-vandalism barnstar. I base that off it's description at WP:STAR.--Ipatrol (talk) 22:17, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Template:Anti-Vandalism Barnstar was only created last year. This one was created in 2006. See this - they both had the same password. When RickK retired, Zoe returned from a long wikibreak. Sure it's guessing, but it's a good guess. Why should we name this barnstar after a former admin, who last edited in 2005, who was apparently so great that his password was easy to guess? And what is so better about this barnstar than the other one? – How do you turn this on (talk) 22:23, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
While I'm not really sure why it matters, I do know that some of the editors who were around back in the day (when RickK was a minor celebrity) wouldn't appreciate a redirect... If you really insist on this template not being used anymore, the best action to take would be to {{subst:}}ing the remaining transclusions, then redirecting to the newer template. bahamut0013 15:52, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The main reason why I am here is to counter vandalism. Could I receive this barnstar? Yeltsinfan (talk) 03:56, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You don't ask for barstars. They are awarded to you by other editors who notice your works/actions. -ALLST☆R echo 05:51, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
