Template talk:Supranational Asian Bodies
Cambodia is member of ASEAN and Kuwait is not a member of ASEAN. Please rectify it. See reference.JPMEENA (talk) 14:10, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
- Somehow mixed them up. It should be correct now. SiBr4 (talk) 14:34, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
Eurasian Economic Union
[edit]The Eurasian Economic Union covers 4 Asian countries. Although it includes one European country, Belarus, it predominantly covers northern and central asia. It's also unlikely to gain any more members in Europe, and Belarus participates in other Asian organisations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (only an observer currently). I think it should be included. Rob984 (talk) 10:52, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
- Any non-Asian member state means it's not a purely Asian organization. Observer states have never been included in these organization diagrams: the Council of Europe is included in Template:Supranational European Bodies despite Japan and the Northern American states being observers, while organizations such as NATO and CIS aren't included due to their non-European member states. Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)
[edit]At present there are 8 members. India and Pakistan became full members of SCO on 9th June 2017. Sakhilnair (talk) 16:49, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
CPTPP and RCEP
[edit]Should this diagram also reflect both? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 06:25, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
Palestine
[edit]Can't we also add it here as it's also an ACD member? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 02:00, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
- @SiBr4:^^--Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 04:09, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- I agree. It’s a member of Asia Cooperation Dialogue, and on this list Mongolia, South Korea, and Japan are included in that group but not other(as in other groupings). Doremon764 (talk) 17:23, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
Suggest some regional blocs may have benefits on showing
[edit]- Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS): MGC minus India and plus China
- Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS): China, Japan and South Korea
- Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan's Neighbouring Countries (MFMANC): China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan
Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 01:13, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- only 1/3 bloc u suggest seems to me worth adding. I did not find any source suggest MFMANC exists as a bloc. GMS wiki has no mention of secretariat or something like that. so only TCS seems legit bloc as in a bloc of countries `~ᴀɴᴋʀᴀᴊ ɢɪʀɪ🎇✨( C • Talk ) 21:02, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
Remove SCO or not?
[edit]Since 2022, Belarus is in the process of being admitted by SCO, thus SCO will no longer be a pure organization of Asia, but rather Europe-Asia. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 06:50, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
Iran membership into SCO
[edit]Iran is a member of the SCO should Supranational Asian Bodies be updated to account for it? Doremon764 (talk) 21:02, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Doremon764 I'd suggest to just remove SCO, as SCO will soon have a purely-Europe member called Belarus next year. Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 08:49, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
- Belarus is a member of the SCO now. Doremon764 (talk) 03:28, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
Asia Council
[edit]Inclusion of Asia Council. Doremon764 (talk) 05:33, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
SCO removal from list?
[edit]SCO has admitted Belarus to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Should we add Belarus and Iran to the group in the chart or just remove the grouping from the Supranational Asian Bodies since Belarus is seen as a European country? Doremon764 (talk) 16:33, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
