Southern Premier Soccer League

[edit]

Okay, I can understand the arguments that the Southern Premier Soccer League shouldn't be included in the box. I just want to start a discussion to elaborate on reasons why people think it should or should not be, more than the one liners in the edit box.

Is the sticking point that it is affiliated to US Club Soccer, even though it is also recognized by USSF?

Side note, the Pacific Coast Soccer League is affiliated to the US Adult Soccer Association which makes up the fifth tier of the pyramid and is amateur. Also, the PCSL no longer includes any American teams. I'm wondering why the PCSL qualifies for inclusion in the template box but the SPSL doesn't.

USL-PDL and NPSL are considered fourth tier (as opposed to fifth) because they were grandfathered in, since they are too affiliated with USASA and are amateur leagues.

So I just want to start a legitimate discussion of the merits of the SPSL with regard to the US Soccer template box. Thanks.

SPSL shouldn't get a separate entry in the infobox. PDL and NPSL have, as you rightly say, been grandfathered in as Level 4 leagues. All the others at L5 - including the SPSL - are subsumed under their respesctive umbrella organization, be it the USASA or USCS. Leagues as long-standing and respected as the Cosmopolitan Soccer League (which at one time was the #1 league in the USA) don't get a separate entry as they are currently at L5. SPSL is exactly the same and has achieved nothing (yet) to indicate they are any different from any of the other regional amateur leagues around the country. --JonBroxton (talk) 06:54, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Placement of National Team Rows

[edit]

In the current template format the Overview section is on top with the Men's National Teams row just below it. Why then, is the Women's National Team so much farther below? I understand the logic behind keeping the Men's National Team, leagues, Tier 2 leagues, etc. together, but since the Women's National Teams are on the same elite level with the men then shouldn't their row be just below the Men's National Team?--SargentIV (talk) 01:26, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: Please wait until Draft:Elite Clubs National League is accepted into mainspace. It's premature to leave a redlink in a template like this. Lizthegrey (talk) 02:04, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Draft has been moved to mainspace, so reopening this request as advised. -97.120.80.170 (talk) 20:47, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the NWSL playoffs link from:
