Template talk:Rfd top

Template:Rfd top is permanently protected from editing because it is a heavily used or highly visible template. Substantial changes should first be proposed and discussed here on this page. If the proposal is uncontroversial or has been discussed and is supported by consensus, editors may use {{edit template-protected}} to notify an administrator or template editor to make the requested edit. Usually, any contributor may edit the template's documentation to add usage notes or categories.

Any contributor may edit the template's sandbox. Functionality of the template can be checked using test cases.

Adding content

If you are suggesting a similar help box, I don't think it's really necessary as it's described at Wikipedia:Deletion process and anyone closing delete debates should be familiar with that page or shouldn't be doing it. However, it doesn't hurt anything so I don't object. If you are suggesting adding that particular notice, then that would be incorrect as it's instructions are wrong for this template. -- JLaTondre 14:21, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are the XfDs debates or discussions?

I haven't seen any true debates in AfD, RfD, CfD, TfD, or MfD, but I've seen many discussions. It seems more appropriate to modify the top boilerplate to say "The result of the discussion is" instead of the current wording. 147.70.242.40 (talk) 20:43, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since the RfD process involves a discussion and not a debate, will someone kindly change the "debate" in the boilerplate top to "discussion"? It makes much more sense this way. Hide closed discussion from log

In a sandbox I've created a version of this template that only shows outcome of the discussion on pages where the discussions are transcluded, including WP:RFD. Edit request for dark mode settings

This will be a slight color change, but I suggest using #FFEEDD as the fallback background color instead of #fffff3 so that skins that don't have dark mode (all except Vector 2022 and Minerva/mobile) will not have any color change. SilverLocust 💬 21:52, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
