The template entry for UNOCI remains active within the displayed article. That is, it would link to itself ad infinitum.--Connection 20:55, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"In dispute"

[edit]

Is it correct to say "in dispute" under President and Prime Minister in the infobox? Yes, it is legally disputed, but I think Wikipedia should simply state the facts on the ground, and right now Gbagbo is the one who controls the capital and the largest city. It is not, in fact, clear that Ouattara is effectively wielding any authority outside of the Golf Hotel. Everyking (talk) 18:50, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia should retain a neutral point of view and not take sides, so is biased to name either Gbagbo or Ouattara as president. Until the situation stabilises, we should say that the presidency (and prime ministership) is disputed, either simply as "in dispute" or "in dispute between Laurent Gbagbo and Alassane Ouattara". It is a misunderstanding of NPOV to think that Wikipedia should not report the existing reality because the legality of it is disputed. Everyking (talk) 11:31, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Of course we can say what the de facto situation is, as long as we do not imply that it is indisputably the de jure situation. Bazonka (talk) 13:01, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Judicial system

[edit]

There is now a page for the Judicial system of the Ivory Coast. Perhaps this should be added to the template.
