Zamboanga del Sur's 3rd district
[edit]Where should this go? This became Zamboanga Sibugay, which got split into two. There are also other instances of places "losing districts" to new ones. Howard the Duck (talk) 13:05, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Howard the Duck: Zamboanga Sibugay's at-large congressional district maybe? And then Zamboanga del Sur's 3rd congressional district will be a redirect to it. —hueman1 (talk • contributions) 12:21, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- Well, Zamboanga Sibugay never elected representatives or board members at-large (yet!), so that'll be wrong. US congressional districts navboxes are split per state. It's a good idea to split these per region too. Then we can add defunct districts along with the active ones per province. Howard the Duck (talk) 12:35, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- Update: There's a pending bill splitting Zamboanga del Sur into 3 districts, so if that is passed it'll be a unique occurrence of a numbered district being resurrected. Howard the Duck (talk) 13:07, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
Order of regions
[edit]I suggest that we order the regions according to location, and not alphabetically. For reference, here is the table of regions, arranged by location. I think ordering by location would be more logical, since for example Region IV-A and Mimaropa are placed far from each other in the current order. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmsay (talk • contribs) 04:32, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Split into navboxes per regions
[edit]U.S. Congress split theirs per state. With 270+ links the best course of action will be to that too here.
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region I}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region II}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region III}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region IV-A}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region V}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region VI}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region VII}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region VIII}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region IX}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region X}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region XI}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region XII}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Region XIII}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in Mimaropa}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in the BARMM}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in the CAR}}
- {{Philippine congressional districts in the NCR}}
I don't know what to do with this navbox if that happens, but I guess we can either link the 17 regional navboxes here, or TFD this as it won't be needed by then. Howard the Duck (talk) 13:05, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
- Support but can we use the common names of the regions instead like {{Philippine congressional districts in Metro Manila}} for consistency with other templates or maybe ditch the "Philippine" and just leave it like {{Congressional districts in Metro Manila}} for simplicity? —hueman1 (talk • contributions) 13:32, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
- This is merely names of the templates, that the reader has of no use of. I actually thought about this and we can use the numbered regions for template names (these rarely change; Region IX is roughly the same from its institution despite being renamed to "Zamboanga Peninsula" from "Western Mindanao"), then the usual names for the title readers see in the navbox, such as "Congressional districts for the House of Representatives of the Philippines in Metro Manila" for {{Philippine congressional districts in the NCR}}. Howard the Duck (talk) 14:33, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
- About this navbox, maybe we can just redirect it to {{Philippine legislative districts}}? —hueman1 (talk • contributions) 13:36, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
- Well, we can do that too. Howard the Duck (talk) 14:29, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
All of the existing articles are now using regional navboxes instead of the national one. We can keep the national one for the meantime to track what needs to be created, but for now I suggest on using the regional navboxes on all new articles moving forward.
