Would someone please add the quote parameter?
[edit]This template seems to be based on Template:Cite web. Would someone more capable than I add in use of the quote parameter, or else explain why it's a bad idea? I tested using quote= as this template is now, and it doesn't work.
I believe (still untested outside of my brain) that I can still add text after the ending braces and before the closing ref tag, but for sake of consistency with other refs in the same article that might use Cite Web, being able to use this parameter would be simpler than having to remember to move the accessdate out of that field and into the plain text area (before the closing ref tag). Thanks! --Geekdiva (talk) 08:38, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Not a reliable source
[edit]- I don't think that the Online Etymology DIctionary should be considered a reliable source. Paul August ☎ 18:25, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
- Others agree, see Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 142#Online Etymology Dictionary. If it's true, this template should be removed as it would seem to sanction and encourage the use of an unreliable source. --IamNotU (talk) 15:13, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
