"For brevity, the word "Justice" has been omitted from judges' titles."

[edit]

This sounds absurd (as any litigation lawyer practising in this jurisdiction would have told the author of this idea if they had asked). It is like deciding between "Prime Minister Rishi Sunak" and "Rishi Sunak", and settling on "Minister Rishi Sunak" on the grounds that "for brevity, the word 'prime' has been omitted". The person is called Sir/Dame Firstname Lastname. Their title is Mr/Mrs Justice Lastname. Using "Mr/Mrs Lastname" is not only incorrect, but also *the worst* way to do this: if it must be shortened in the box, it would have been far better to omit the whole "Mr/Mrs Justice", not just "Justice". 5.148.22.244 (talk) 11:03, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
