Template talk:Iran Ethnic Groups Labelled Map
Khūzestān seems to be marked as an area populated only by Arabs. This is inaccurate. My mother used to live there and there are a large number of ethnic Persians (Aryani) there.

Mistake
[edit]The Laki-speaking areas of Poshtkun and Pishekuh are labelled Lur; I will correct it. Also the Luri speaking area has been mostly shown as Persian-speaking, except for a small area in Kuhgiluyeh. Ellipi (talk) 22:12, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- I renamed the blue area in western Iran to Laks. but I think it shows the Laki area a little larger than it should be. Ellipi (talk) 22:35, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
You're going to have to cite a source per WP:V. They are labeled as Lurs here. If you have an equally reliable source labeling them as Laks, please provide one. But make sure that the academic consensus supports your version as well. Khoikhoi 22:37, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- I explained that it is a mistake. If you insist to call Laki-speaking areas as Luri-speaking, then why are showing Bakhtiari area, that is the heart of Luri area( where Bakhtiari, the main group of Lurs inhabit,) as Persian? Ellipi (talk) 22:42, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Also the second map you provided, (and sure I'd seen it before) shows large parts of the central part of Ilam province as Kurdish (and sparesly inhabited area.) but the map in question here shows it as Luri! Ellipi (talk) 22:47, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. It doesn't matter whether you think something isn't true, it matters whether you can support something with reliable sources or not. Do you have any references proving the academic consensus to be the contrary? Khoikhoi 00:05, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- Then where are Bakhtiatis on the map? Ellipi (talk) 09:32, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
- Here is a modified version based on the same map of Peoples of Iran. It highlights both Bakhtiari and Laki areas as well as Kurdish areas which are omitted on the current map. If you agree I'll replace it. Ellipi (talk) 18:33, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

- I do not insist to replace the map with the modified version suggested by me. I am for correction of the funny mistake which claims Ilam province and north-west Luristan province are Luri areas. Any ideas/suggestions are welcomed. Ellipi (talk) 18:57, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- There is some inaccuracies in the map. The problem is that some of these areas are intermixed. The map on Khuzestan for example is wrong. For example: Dezful, Andishmak, Shushtar, Izeh, Masjed Soleyman, Ramhormoz, Behbahan, Maahshar, Agajari, Haftgel, Dehdoz, Lali, Baghmak, Hendijan, Haft Teppeh, Bandar-Imam are overwhelmingly Lur/Bakhtiari/Persian.

دزفول و اندیشمک و شوشتر و ایذه و مسجید سلیمان و رامهرمز و بهبهان و ماهشهر و آغاجری و هفتگل و دهدز و لالی و باغمک و هندیجان و هفت تپه و بندر امام
- On your current suggestion, I think it is best to leave the map as it is though. Because if you modify it, others will modify it and etc. My suggestion is add this map in conjunction [1]. What do you think? --

- I think your map is much better.Ellipi (talk) 11:13, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- But now how to replace the map?
ther are some problems in your essay. in west azerbayjan kurds are minority but in your map i see all of this kurds and there are not any azeri-turks there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.28.75.194 (talk) 15:34, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
