Infobox Gunfighter

Further to the above, I've nominated {{Infobox Gunfighter}} for deletion,. There are only six instance, and its only unique parameter is "notable opponents". I suggest that the latter be added to {{Infobox Person}}, as it can apply in a number of other cases, too.

As noted in more detail here Template talk:Infobox actor/Archive 7#Merge with Infobox person there are several fields in the infobox person that consensus has removed/deactivate from the infobox actor. While I think that this merger is a good idea for some infoboxes larger projects like the "Wikiproject Actors/Filmmakers" needs flexibility to change their infobox without impacting on the wider use person infobox. These should be generalized as much as possible, then the specific templates can simply be modified to accept the canonical field names or the historical ones. E.g. "Papacy began" and the like (maybe a reign_began field for heads of state, and so on) can be generalize into some kind of began field. Or the pope template code can be modified to combine Papacy began and Papacy ended into a years_active range. the Infobox Snooker Player template, for example, could have its "professional" field be a years_active range, maybe. There would just need to be some field for what output the years_active parameter would give (Papacy, etc.) Some fields should probably just be dropped (i.e. their values ignored in deployed instances, and their code and documentation removed), e.g. "ethnicity" - too PoV. "Restaurants" can be generalized into an "organizations" field, for any kind of employment/ownership. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SMcCandlish (talk • contribs)

• {{Infobox Aviator}} - first flight aircraft, first flight date, f-flights (stands for "famous flights" - equals "known for"?), license date, license place, air force, battles, rank. Circa 30 transclusions.
