Duplicate parameters
[edit]According to the documentation, this template has two different, |Type=
parameters. I'm going to ask for a tracking category to see how they're used. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 07:45, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, it was just a mistake in the documentation. I double checked the code. –droll [chat] 08:41, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
Maps
[edit]Is there a way to add a map in this template? Volcanoguy 19:35, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yes. I've added some minimal documentation. Let me know if you experience any difficulty. -Stepheng3 (talk) 23:16, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I wasn't just refering to location maps. Also topographical maps, geological maps, etc. Volcanoguy 00:18, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
Request to remove call to Invoke:Coordinates.dms2dec
[edit]Hi. I have a minor technical request. I'd like to remove the Invoke:Coordinates.dms2dec call from this template. Some pages will call this template without passing any lat / long arguments. As a result, Module:Coordinates gets called, but fails silently because the lat / long values are nil. An example page would be Mission_San_Xavier_del_Bac
Please note that this request is similar to a previous one. See https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template_talk%3AInfobox_valley&type=revision&diff=627298154&oldid=626978373 . In this case, I requested the same change to Template:Infobox_valley. Frietjes was kind enough to implement the request later. Also note that this same type of change was made on a three other templates: Template:Infobox_park, Template:Infobox_mountain_range, and Template:Infobox_forest
I've made the proposed change in the sandbox. You can view the differences here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template%3AInfobox_landform%2Fsandbox&type=revision&diff=732030114&oldid=732030053 .
Let me know if you have any questions.

Land and water areas? Population? Bordering areas? Lowest point?
[edit]I see that someone came through and modified the page for Korean Peninsula (this is the version prior to the edit) to use this template instead of Template:Geobox, but several pieces of information were not brought over, and there aren't variables for certain things. I see there's a "water=" variable, but setting that doesn't seem to do anything. Is that supposed to be water area? Can we get fields added for population, bordering areas, or lowest point? (Highest point seems to be there, though.) —Mulad (talk) 20:24, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
Is there a way to add multiple pictures?
[edit]^ BhamBoi (talk) 19:49, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- I would say that multiple pictures defeats the purpose of infoboxes, which is to succinctly summarize information about the topic. Extra pictures should be added to the article. See also WP:IMGCONTENT. — hike395 (talk) 20:07, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- I did that to the article I was trying on. Thanks for the response! BhamBoi (talk) 20:10, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
