I can't get this to work.

Essays need an infobox. The book infobox has a lot of parameters that don't apply. Trumpetrep (talk) 04:32, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Creating a new infobox template should probably be discussed beforehand. I see you objecting to using the book template, but inapplicable parameters can almost always be ignored.

The problem with what you've done so far is to put what might be start of the /doc page at the template source location, causing a loop.
