Template talk:Infobox Calvinist theologian
Theologians
[edit]My first thought is that this is pretty specific since it is about theologians in particular. That may be just what we need, but I'm just making it explicit. As such, it wouldn't seem to apply to "ordinary" Calvinists like Joshua Harris (to pick an example almost at random from the Category:Calvinists) and Paul Kooistra (to pick an example almost at random from the Category:Reformed theologians) , who are more known as preachers or writers, but not theologians proper. Just wondering if that's the intent. (BTW, you may want to share your thoughts on the potential merger of Category:Calvinists and Category:Reformed theologians at Category_talk:Calvinists.) Also, the name should probably be changed to lower case: Template:Infobox Calvinist theologian.--Flex (talk|contribs) 13:46, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- Check out the current revision of the project scope; the scope may need more revision, though. I guess my intent was to just do Theologians and Philosophers (see Guidelines section of Wikipedia:WikiProject Calvinism), and worry about the others later. My specific criteria was that all the people in the Top-class importance and High-class importance fall (IMHO) into one of these two categories.
- OTOH, you're the one who's interested in biography; feel free to take this and totally replace it with something else, or move it wherever; if you move it, could you please correct the links on the pages that link here; that's al I ask :).
Not just Calvinists
[edit]Why not just a standard Template:Theologians? That would be even more useful. Our at-a-glance biographical requirements are pretty much the same, regardless of denomination, don't you think? Alejandro 75.212.3.56 04:04, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
- Possibly. My thought was to let this develop here in WikiProject Calvinism, and then, if there wasn't much in the way of specific requirements, try to generalise it and donate it to the Christianity and/or Biography WikiProjects. OTOH, if we come up with a fair number of specific things, we might be better off sticking with our own.
