Game Summary

[edit]

When editing game results in the 2008 IIHF Women's U18 World Championships article, when a score is entered into the template, a bolded 'Game Summary' pops up in the edited article. Is there somewhere in the template to put a link to a game summary? I couldn't figure it out. Bigdottawa (talk) 12:52, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have added some documentation to help out, the Game Summary should presumably be added with just a link to whatever source there is for the result (in this case, the IIHF website) under "summary = "

Collaspsing rows

[edit]

IMO, the "Score" parameter should not be the determining factor on whether the collapsing rows are visible since it is shown outside those rows. I am currently looking at the 1992 Women's World Ice Hockey Championships article, and since no one has bothered to fill out most of the parameters, the show/hide buttons are useless. It is a disservice to readers who see the show/hide button and click on it only to find out that the rows are completely blank, like there is something wrong with the template. Cheers. Actually, after examining the code, it looks like the real cause of the problem is that the #if parser functions are in the wrong places. If a parameter is not filled in, it should hide the entire row, not just the table cell. I am going to revert my previous edit temporarily and make the necessary alterations. Addition of note parameter

[edit]

Hi, I have a request to add the parameter |note= to the template as I have done successfully in the sandbox. It would be used for example in the 2014–15 Champions Hockey League to explain who goes through to the next round after aggregate score in the same way it is done for football/soccer tournament 2013–14 UEFA Champions League group stage were below the box is written Team X won 3-2 on aggregate after the second leg. As I show below this change will not effect the other pages who already has the template at all since it is not visible if note-parameter is not used.

I provide examples and hope to get comments:

Current template

7 October 2014
19:30
Hamburg Freezers GermanyvUnited Kingdom Nottingham PanthersO2 World, Hamburg

Sandbox with unused note parameter (gives same result as above)

7 October 2014
19:30
Hamburg Freezers Germanyv
(1-1,1-1,1-1)
United Kingdom Nottingham PanthersO2 World, Hamburg

Sandbox version with note

7 October 2014
19:30
Hamburg Freezers Germanyv
(1-1,1-1,1-1)
United Kingdom Nottingham PanthersO2 World, Hamburg
Here is a test note as an example

Any opinions? QED237 (talk) 13:35, 5 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

looks reasonable, although I would suggest a more uniform font size (i.e, style=font-size:85% to match the rest). Frietjes (talk) 17:25, 5 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Frietjes: I can see your argument for the fontsize and I was thinking about it too, but the team-names and time (between teams) are 100% so I went for that and note is more like a text added to the template. Actually I done see why we use 85% at all for date and time (coming from football project were i believe it is 100%). QED237 (talk) 11:10, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
yes, 85% is a bit small, it was just a mild suggestion. we use 88% in infoboxes. by the way, I like the redneck English: "done see why" :) lol. (I was able to figure out that done = don't here, but not in redneck). Frietjes (talk) 14:13, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Frietjes: Okay I will think about the size but first lets see if someone else has any comments. And I am sorry about my bad english, I am not a native english speaker and I have heard I mix american english and british english and at the same time I am bad at spelling. Also all keys on my keyboard at one of my computers are not working all the time. Happy you could figure it out anyway :). QED237 (talk) 15:39, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Floorball

[edit]

Since this template is used at 2017 Women’s World Floorball Championsship I would like to have a referee parameter added. I know thst in ice hockey there are about four I think but in floorball there are only two. I think it would fit in well over the reference in the template with the text like this: Referees: Jörgen Andersson, Daniel Dufvenberg. Thoughts?Jonteemil (talk) 18:01, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Additional MVP parameter

[edit]

I would like to suggest a paramater for "player of the game" or "mvp" which is common in all-star games. For example, add |mvp= to the template. Flibirigit (talk) 05:07, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
