Minor modification
[edit]I have left-justified the left-hand column on this template, because the other templates we are using also have the left column set to left justification. It looked very odd to have the left column centered otherwise. Bgsu98 (Talk) 21:16, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Bgsu98: Thank you very much. Yes, this alignment change makes sense.
- Regarding the detailed results template: is there a particular reason for the width change from 5.5 to 6? I set it intentionally 5.5em, so that in the case of dates that span two months like "Sep 29 – Oct 1, 2023" the linebreak is correctly placed between the dash and Oct, not between Oct and 1. For comparison:
Date |
---|
Sep 29 – Oct 1, 2023 |
Sep 21–22, 2023 |
Date |
---|
Sep 29 – Oct 1, 2023 |
Sep 21–22, 2023 |
- The width of 5.5em works well for both types of dates. In the case of 6em, we need to add {{nbsp}} between Oct and 1 to enforce a linebreak after the dash. Henni147 (talk) 12:02, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- It was displaying the dates oddly on Andrew Torgashev. You may, of course, change it back. I won’t be able to investigate it more closely to see what the issue was until I get home this afternoon. Bgsu98 (Talk) 12:26, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Bgsu98: I just took a quick look at the page of Andrew Torgashev and fixed the display issue with the one date that spanned three rows. It is an extremely rare case that a competition is held in two years. Here we have "Dec 29, 2017 – Jan 8, 2018". I resolved the issue by abbreviating 2017 with '17 and making the spacings smaller. Now it should be fine.
- I also added the remaining personal bests, using the PB list on the skater's official ISU biography as a source. We can discuss on the WikiProject page whether historical PB should be added or not. In the case of skaters like Yuzuru Hanyu or Javier Fernández it definitely makes sense to list historical PB as well, since they are much higher than their PB in the new system. For skaters like Torgashev, where the historical PB were scored at junior level, it may be superflous, though. I wouldn't mind to remove that one again. Henni147 (talk) 14:39, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- Is there any way we can set this template with a fixed width so that each one displays uniform. As it is, they all have varying widths. Bgsu98 (Talk) 14:55, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Bgsu98: Do you have an example where the width varies? For me, they all display uniform. But yes of course, if there are issues, we can fix them. Henni147 (talk) 15:10, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- I think it may depend on the browser being used. I’ll send you a screenshot on Twitter. Bgsu98 (Talk) 15:21, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
