- Why any template? I find it mildly ironic that you're the one asking this Grant. I had attempted to use Template:fb rs on 2009 Seattle Sounders FC season which you promptly replaced with your own table. Templates are an effort to standardise reusable pieces of authoring so that things will "look the same" when they should "look the same" in related articles. Since it has been determined through consensus that MLS team pages will not use the W-D-L format, and instead will use the W-L-T format, I've created this template to ease that effort. I haven't gotten around to going through all of the MLS season pages yet and replacing all references to "fb rs" with a reference to "fb rs mls". Given that you've already committed to doing such work (replacing all W-D-L formatting with W-L-T in MLS articles) in the consensus discussion I just referred to, I'm surprised you're asking. This template should ease that effort and in a way, I'm kind of signing up to help out. Does that answer your question?--SkotywaTalk 21:16, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I asked because there aren't many places this would be used. -- Grant.Alpaugh 21:39, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- The further irony in your comments is that at the same time you're asking why this is needed, you're in another conversation creating this exact need. I'm speechless. Anyway, I've gone through some of the MLS team season pages and updated the templates (look at how simple the edits were). Someday I (or you) will get to the rest of them. Have a nice day.--SkotywaTalk 21:54, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
