Proposing new "groups"
[edit]Under the section or "group" as denoted by the wikicode: Immersive devices has several categories.
I believe these could be retitled into two categories and possibly a third category: "Immersive Personal devices" & "Immersive Room devices" ... possible "Discontinued or Historical devices"
Membership would look like this ...
Google Cardboard | HTC Vive | Oculus Rift | Samsung Gear VR | Project Morpheus
AlloSphere | Cave* | TreadPort
Sensorama | Virtual Boy | Famicom 3D System | Sword of Damocles | Sega VR Virtuality | Cave
Notably, "Cave" as a system is probably discontinued (needs citation) and would move to historical. Does "history" belong as a subcategory with Personal & Room style devices?

- The Cave systems exist in academia, for sure. Minnesota Interactive Visualization Lab et al Runner1928 (talk) 02:05, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
- Really sweet! Thanks! What do you think about the subcategories - do you believe that Personal / Room / History are all directly related and belong in the same line? IamM1rv (talk) 18:39, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
In fiction?
[edit]Should there be a section about mixed/virtual reality in fiction? It could include at least the articles Virtual reality in fiction and Simulated reality in fiction. Martin Kraus (talk) 07:42, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
Artificial Reality is a book series, not a concept
[edit]Should the link Artificial Reality be removed or maybe moved to a new section "in fiction"? Martin Kraus (talk) 07:42, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
Where to put Screen-door effect?
[edit]The screen-door effect is a commonly addressed issue in XR development, but i don't know which section of this template it belongs to. 67.209.130.190 (talk) 08:59, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
