Unit requests
[edit]Input units for this template require a subtemplate of the form Template:Endurance/unit_abbreviation; output units require no additional template and many may already work. To add support for additional input units, copy the code in a current template and substitute the appropriate abbreviation and unit name. Or, simply list any requested input units here: Bellhalla (talk · contribs) 15:26, 2 March 2009
- ... or redesign the template so that the subtemplates mentioned above are no longer necessary. I've just done so. JIMp talk·cont 18:02, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Defaults
[edit]How about defaulting to abbreviated forms since the template is mostly used in infoboxes?
Also how about default units? It almost always nmi @ kn to km @ km/h.

- I have taken a thorough look at the use of this template & here's what I've found.
- The input units are alway nautical miles and knots.
- The output units are always kilometres and kilometres per hour except one instance of miles & km and mph & km/h.
- The template is used once in the text of an article, otherwise it's only ever used in infoboxes.
- A significant proportion of pages which transclude the template do so via {{OHP frigate range}}.
- Sep is left unspecified except that instance mentioned above where it's used in text and in {{OHP frigate range}} in both cases it's set to "at".
