[edit]I have moved this template from Category:United Kingdom political leader navigational boxes to Category:English monarchs navigational boxes. Elizabeth was Queen of England, in which capacity she also was the ruler of Wales, and was Queen of Ireland. However she was never Queen of Scots, with the Scottish and English Crowns not merging until James VI of Scotland, succeeded Elizabeth as monarch England in 1603. Even then Scotland remained a separate state until 1707. Most people would class the rulers as monarch of Great Britain and Ireland, with Ireland retaining a separate parliament. However as noted in the main United Kingdom article the United England (and Wales) and Scotland is sometimes referred to as the United Kingdom from this period onwards, although it was with the 1800 union of Great Britain and Ireland that most people take as the starting point for the United Kingdom. Whatever the case Elizabeth cannot be considered to have ever been monarch of the United Kingdom (or to have ever lived in the United Kingdom), hence I felt this template needed to be in the English Monarch category rather than the United Kingdom political leader navigational boxes category.
