Per consensus at Wikipedia_talk:Teahouse#Asking_Guests_to_provide_the_name_of_the_page_they're_asking_about, please change the current edit notice to the one as it currently appears in my sandbox. rchard2scout (talk) 17:59, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello, a few editors at the Teahouse think it would be good to add a "
sign your posts with ~~~~
" to the top of the page as most editors forget to sign their posts. Preferablly it could like something like this:
Please remember to sign your post with four tildes, like this: ~~~~ |
Bᴇʀʀᴇʟʏ • Talk to me∕What have I been doing 10:33, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
- Not done for now: I'd like to see a few examples of the notice with the extra note added in; I'm not sure if it would be better to add an extra hatnote or just an extra line in the existing box. Given that the Teahouse is (some think) a big deal, it might be worth popping a note there so that we can get some more input. Primefac (talk) 17:54, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

Replace:
{{Button|{{int:Publishchanges}}|bgcolor2=#BBE}}
To:
<div class="oo-ui-inputWidget-input oo-ui-buttonElement-button">{{int:Publishchanges}}</div>
To make it more appealing to users, rather than a (unclickable[!]) plain div with border radius, box shadow and gradient, or if those classes can't be used, use mw-ui-button mw-ui-progressive
.
And this... probably needs a consensus established, right?
And yes I know I answered my own question, don't link any essays about that either. 125.167.114.151 (talk) 06:17, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- I think the styling is intentionally different, so that users don't confuse the example button with an actual clickable button. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 07:46, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- Alright then. But is there any chance it might get changed to something alike? 125.167.114.151 (talk) 07:50, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- The question of whether we should do it aside, I don't think your code works IP. See User:ProcrastinatingReader/sandbox3. ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 12:49, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- @ProcrastinatingReader: I meant the alternative
mw-ui-button mw-ui-progressive
class, not theoo-ui
125.167.114.151 (talk) 01:54, 25 May 2021 (UTC)- IP, I think it might be a question to raise at Template talk:Button, since it has some wider applicability. {{u|Sdkb}} talk 02:05, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Alrigt, I'll try 125.167.114.151 (talk) 03:27, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
- Or maybe...
To:{{Clickable button 2|{{int:Publishchanges}}|link=no}}
Since THERE IS already a template for the button, I forgot to check it again. 125.167.114.151 (talk) 03:31, 25 May 2021 (UTC)- The technical part is doable as
{{clickable button 2|{{int:Publishchanges}}|color=blue|link=no}}
(producing ), which I copied from Template:EditOptions. However, I'm not seeing the consensus required to make this edit go live, so Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the{{edit template-protected}}
template. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:43, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Template styles CSS needs to be changed
[edit]Hi,
I have my "Appearances" set to Automatic, and I realized that this Editnotice is completely black. If I set "Appearances" to Light, it's fine. I think it's the Template:Editnotices/Page/Wikipedia:Teahouse/styles.css page that needs to be changed, but I'm not sure how. See thumb.
