Category

[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please add <noinclude>[[Category:Wikipedia Did you know]]</noinclude> to the bottom of the page. Also, just above the category, please add {{DYKSymbols}}. This will help DYK reviewers in vetting the DYK hooks. Thanks. -- Suntag 18:06, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This sounds like a good idea to me. Personally, I've already memorized the symbols from using them over and over again, but when I first started I remember trying to find those symbols was a bitch. I think adding the list of symbols to the edit notice won't do any harm to the regulars, and will make things easier for newcomers (and making things easy is the best way to turn newcomers into regulars!). —Politizer talk/contribs 20:30, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nominating strings

[edit]

{{editprotected}}

The "Did you Know is currently trialling a new system of moving the hooks to the main page" notice doesn't seem to be needed any more since the hooks moved from Template talk:Did you know now are transcluded back onto Template talk:Did you know (at the bottom). Please remove the notice. Also, please add {{DYKsugstrings}} above {{DYKSymbols}}. This will help nominators of DYK hooks to add their nomination more easily. I tried to condense {{DYKsugstrings}} so as to fit on MediaWiki:Editnotice-11-Did you know. Feel free to tweek if it doesn't fit well. Thanks. -- Suntag 19:13, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. Please add back the edit-prot request if a modification is needed. Thanks for your help with DYK, Cirt (talk) 23:41, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adding BLP expanded status

[edit]

{{editprotected}}A new status, BLP expanded, has now been created to match recent changes in DYK acceptance rules. Replacing the numbered list with the one below adds the new option and makes all formats consistent. Thanks. EdChem (talk) 12:55, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  1. New Article: {{subst:NewDYKnom | article= | hook=... that ? | status=new | author= | nominator= }}
  2. ×5 Expansion: {{subst:NewDYKnom | article= | hook=... that ? | status=expanded | author= | nominator= }}
  3. Newly-sourced BLP, ×2 Expansion: {{subst:NewDYKnom | article= | hook=... that ? | status=BLP expanded | author= | nominator= }}
  4. Nom with image: {{subst:NewDYKnom | article= | hook=... that ? | status= | author= | nominator= | image= | rollover= | alttext= }}
  5. Nom with sound: {{subst:NewDYKnom | article= | hook=... that ? | status= | author= | nominator= | sound= | soundcaption= }}
  6. Nom with video: {{subst:NewDYKnom | article= | hook=... that ? | status= | author= | nominator= | video= | videocaption= }}
  7. Other parameters: |article2=, etc. |author2=, etc. |ALT1= |comment=
Okay done, but I think this editnotice is getting ridiculously long. Perhaps these could go into a collapsed box? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:42, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rule change template

[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please remove {{DYK rules change}} from the top of the page. This change is no longer new. I believe the {{-}} immediately following it can also be removed, but I'm not sure about that. Thanks, cmadler (talk) 12:35, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done - I agree, the change was more than three months ago. The {{-}} I also removed, since that is just a spacer. Reaper Eternal (talk) 22:13, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 19 April 2021

[edit]

The page has a Lint error because it uses the obsolete <center>...</center> html tag. It is in this part -

<center>'''Remember to post your nomination at the TOP (not the bottom) of the appropriate section.'''</center>

To get the same display without error, replace it with {{center|'''Remember to post your nomination at the TOP (not the bottom) of the appropriate section.'''}}
