Confusing legend

[edit]

Could someone add some detail to the legend at the bottom of this diagram? Some colors are used for more than one party (yellow, grey and light blue). It is not clear which color applies to which bar in the graph. I would assume each of these three colors mean different things at different dates. Perhaps adding "until 19XX" or "after 20XX" to certain items could clear up the confusion. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 23:16, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Novis
I updated the template. Could you please have a look?
Thanks!

Merging of groups

[edit]

Would it not make sense to keep the Patriots and ESN distinct? What makes, e.g., the AfD distinct from Fidesz?

This would also solve the need for the added brackets with the two group names which makes the template heavier imho. Fanzago (talk) 08:51, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea what is the difference between ECR, Patriots and ESN. Other than each next one being more radical than previous one.
I replaced multiple links with a single link to relevant section. Svito3 (talk) 01:26, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed – GlowstoneUnknown (Talk) 07:39, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not agreed. This template matches categories used in Political groups of the European Parliament#History according to group.
Splitting groups from same ideological group doesn't make sense. You can see multiple left, centre, and right groups of same family are not split in the timeline. -- Svito3 (talk) 08:12, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
