ECLI
[edit][Relocated from "User talk:Jacklee".] Hi, thanks for your change at Template:ECLI, but maybe you didn't realise that the template is already used, and by changing the parameter format, existting ECLIs at eg. Unitary patent dont work anymore? I saw you added the template like that to the infobox courtcase, but if you want to strip the ECLI from the ECLI (and I think that's less desired, as its integral part of the code, something people might google for) maybe just add a custom swith to Template:Infobox court case? - It's up to you. I can change the template so that "ECLI" must be manually typed, but it seems a bit unnecessary since that abbreviation appears at the start of every identifier. Googling will not be affected as the full identifier appears in the article, just not in the wikitext. For example, typing
{{ECLI|EU:C:1991:80}}
produces EU:C:1991:80 – "ECLI:" appears in the identifier and can be searched for. The template hasn't been used in many articles yet, so it shouldn't be too difficult to manually change the articles and remove the abbreviation "ECLI" so that the templates work again. Let me know what you would like me to do. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 20:27, 30 November 2014 (UTC)- Well if its all the same to you, I prefer the double ECLI in the template, eg. "ECLI|ECLI:HU:IM:AG:IN:ARY", as it a bit of a hack to strip a part of the ECLI (although always the same). But I do like the labelling option, maybe just use a value instead of a string for true/false? Stratoprutser (talk) 20:57, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- All right, I've changed the template so it is now necessary to type "ECLI:" again. Not sure what you mean by "maybe just use a value instead of a string" – can you clarify? (By the way, by using #switch, it is now quite easy to add additional EU states and international organizations to the template. You can do so yourself.) — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 21:06, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- Cool thanks, sorry Boolean disappeared. I could if i'd had the rights :) (thats also why i coduln't test edit). I'm going to copy your code to WP:NL. Stratoprutser (talk) 22:16, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- Errr ... I'm not sure I understand. What is WP:NL? — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 08:58, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
