Automatic categorization
Would it make sense to categorize project pages which use {{Dosanddonts}} automatically into Category:Wikipedia dos and don'ts? —andrybak (talk) 16:33, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- Sure. —swpbT • go beyond • bad idea 21:40, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
- Swpb, it turns out the automatic categorization is already present. I assumed there wasn't one because I saw manual categorization in some pages in the category (e.g. Wikipedia:Accessibility dos and don'ts), but they actually don't use the template. Is there a particular reason to not use the template on every such page to keep them uniform? —andrybak (talk) 10:19, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
- WP:AccDD, for one, is formatted differently in accordance with its own content, which the template isn't currently equipped to handle. I made the template so other users would have an easier time of making new DD pages that look like the current ones (although no one but me has used it so far), but there's no reason to require it. What's important is that all the DD pages are in the category, either manually or automatically. —swpbT • go beyond • bad idea 18:50, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
Doc suggestion
Documentation section Example output could be rewritten using Template:Parameter names example:

Look of {{Dosanddonts}} doesn't change much, but the current implementation requires maintenance. {{Parameter names example}} requires only updating the list of possible parameters. Thoughts? —andrybak (talk) 22:42, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- Good call, done. —swpbT • go beyond • bad idea 18:48, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
