St Botolph's Church at Botolphs, West Sussex, showing the arches of the vanished north aisle

  • ... that the decline of Botolphs village in West Sussex is reflected in the structure of its church (pictured), where a series of arches on the outer wall indicate a long-demolished aisle?
  • Reviewed: Character amnesia (Diff)
  • Comment: ALT hooks are welcome on this or other aspects of the church. Many sources are books, but I can supply quotes/passages in all cases if required.

  • date, length, refs fine, many sources. Just the hook. A bit too complicated for my taste, I would like to see the unusual name bold, also I think the interior pic would show the fact better in small size, & we see so many grey churches.
