Nowrap?

[edit]

Wouldn't using {{nowrap}} be more elegant? No need for nbsps, no need for piping in riders' names. GregorB 18:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, seems like a good idea. How does that work with disambiguated names though, such as Robert Hunter (cyclist) so that it only reads as Robert Hunter? SeveroTC 19:07, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It would work the same as now (i.e. with pipes). Nowrap pertains to displayed text only. GregorB 19:10, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
checkY Done nice one, backwards compatible on those templates using nbsps so it has sorted all of them. SeveroTC 19:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good. Made a minor change to the template so that pipe is inside nowrap; works the same. I was about to suggest updating the example above, but I see now you have been quick... GregorB 19:38, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

In the same vein as what I did with {{football squad start}}, I've created a navbox version of this set of templates. See {{cycling team}} for details. As a test conversion, I switched {{TMO}} over to it - check out the before, after, and diffs to see how it looks. This should greatly simplify and standardize this set of templates, IMO. If nobody objects I'll swap the rest over to using it in a little while. Bryan Derksen 23:55, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
