Workington
[edit]I've made a start on redrawing the diagram around Workington. More still needs to be done, but I need to get my copy of Jowetts to eliminate some confusion, which means it will be about half an hour before I can do so. In the meantime, please leave the diagram as it is, all will be well in the end. Mjroots2 (talk) 11:45, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's more complicated than I thought. See image. Mjroots (talk) 12:09, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Corkicle Incline
[edit]Please see Corkickle Brake for background information. See This Website http://www.whitehaven.me.uk/brake.htm
I propose to add this "branch" on to the map. The line ran from Mirehouse Jcn to the top of the hill at Kells, first to serve the Earl of Lonsdale's mines and then to service the Albright & Wilsons compound. V1v3k31 (talk) 18:16, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
New Stations Included
[edit]I have added St Helen, Whitbeck, Kirksanton, Underhill and Dunnerholme. V1v3k31 (talk) 18:34, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
All the above were Halt's on the railway when it was first opened. Gradually before the 20th Century most were closed due to poor passenger traffic. There are no signs of these wooden affairs apart from historical texts mentioning their opening and demise plus a few photos. St Helen closed in the 1980s and the platforms are currently present just a mile south of Flimby, opposite the lane with the same name.
I have tried to make my edits as carefully as possible, but as you have guessed, I am a novice at editing these line diagrams, hence the frequent edits. I am getting a lot better but I am still rough around the edges. I agree to check my work before I post, but this can be hard when you cannot see the symbols in the preview, only the code. removal of Coulderton and Saltcoats

Piel Branch
[edit]I am hoping to make this branch a little clearer on the line template from information gleaned from both the Wikipedia articles on both Rampside and Piel stations.

- @Xenophon Philosopher:
Please can you find an appropriate wikilink for Piel, or unlink it? Piel Island is near the right location but a rail bridge seems unlikely and the obvious route to it would have been via Roa rather than Rampside.Certes (talk) 20:00, 9 June 2020 (UTC)- Please ignore: Nthep has kindly fixed it. I have no idea how my search missed Piel railway station. Certes (talk) 21:53, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
