17th century flag

Flag not producing correctly
[edit]Hi all. This template appears to be producing an all white flag. . Can someone have a look at this; as it's beyond my pay grade! Cheers Rangasyd (talk) 12:36, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

Please remove the 1562 double-tailed flag. There is no credible support that there was a standardized flag at this time. Nor is there any conclusive evidence that it was double-tailed. This claim has stood uncontested at flag of Sweden for several years now, but it actually had not support in references. I just removed the claim since I had tagged it as {{or}} since May and raised the issue on the talkpage.

- I've tracked the 1562 variant to see if any pages use it. Template talk:Country data Sweden is actually a better place for a request like this; to get attention from template editors you can use the {{TPER}} template. SiBr4 (talk) 21:18, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- Ah. Thanks for the hint.
- Peter Isotalo 09:29, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- The tracking category shows the variant is used in at least 170 pages (there may be more due to the job queue). If {{flag}} is used with a non-existing variant, the main flag (in this case File:Flag of Sweden.svg) is used instead. I think that is OK? SiBr4 (talk) 10:59, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- That seems like the best solution, yes.

- No isen't done still wrongly in use in Peace of Lund a fantasy Swedish flag is used, Danish is correct (the two tailed Danish stands for the government of Denmark, not just the king/army), but question is if it is not The regular Danish that should be used?.
- This template is not consistent to the English article of the subject:
- Flag_of_Sweden
- The two tailed flag were short experimental in the past, no official support.
- There are two types in all eras:
- Triple tailed for the king (and as such the military) Flag_of_Sweden#Triple-tailed_flag officially from 1663
- The rectangular for all others
- Three eras:
- From 1906 lighter blue
- Before 1905 darker blue
- There are a number of extensions like
- Until 1905 with union symbols (OK in the template from 1815-1905
- These were extensions (normally not used in Norway, but by right wing Swedes)
- There are no correct Swedish template flags before 1906 (1815).
- Instruct how to do it and I update the template of Swedish flags. Zzalpha (talk) 18:58, 28 December 2022 (UTC)

1905–1906

I'd like to request that File:Flag of Sweden (pre-1906).svg be added as a parameter for the period of 1 November 1905–21 June 1906. I would suggest a parameter name of 1905
. The union mark present in File:Swedish civil ensign (1844–1905).svg was removed as of 1 November 1905 to become File:Flag of Sweden (pre-1906).svg, and remained this way until the colour change on 22 June 1906. Rowing007 (talk) 17:10, 17 March 2023 (UTC)
