Flag thumbnails
[edit]Does anyone know why most of those thumbnails (seen in "testcalls", down the bottom of the template page, as well as when you actually use the template) are coming out as pure white boxes, rather than the correct flag? And more importantly, can anyone fix it? Falastur2 23:45, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- The problem lies with the image on commons. See this link and you'll see that it is blank there. I'd suggest posting to the commons help desk for someone knowledgable to fix it. Andrwsc 16:55, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, it's not blank there. Not for me, anyway. I can see that flag quite clearly, and yesterday, when I made that comment, of the five different types of flag code on the bottom of the template page, I could see the bottom one - which shows you the code for changing the pixel size of the image - quite correctly also. Oh, and I also could see the image in the imagebox further up the page, the one subtitled "See Also: Flag of Gagauzia". All the others on that page were white, but not those two.
- Interestingly, I now can't see the flag in the size-changing template. I can still see the larger flag further up the page though, and can see, as I just said, the flag on the actual image page. Which just makes this whole situation so much more confusing to me. Perhaps WikiCommons is the way to go, though I'd be interested to see any other comments before venturing all the way over there. - Well, almost certainly the problem is with the SVG image itself or with something else Commons-related. The templates used here are very stable, and work with thousands of flags, so I am certain there is no problem with the template code. Andrwsc 19:11, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- You're probably right, of course. I'll wait a bit, see what happens, then contact WikiCommons. Unless you have any other ideas, of course. Thanks for the help. Falastur2 19:26, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
