New French Guiana Flag

[edit]

I think we should replace the current flag of French Guiana French Guiana (France) for the one adopted by the General Council on 29 January, 2010. Here's the link if you want to replace it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_French_Guiana.svg Gonzalochileno (talk) 02:58, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is anybody paying attention to this?.. which is the idea of having this protected if there is nobody to check our questions?... i hope somebody checks this soon... Gonzalochileno (talk) 16:14, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are you kidding me?!!!! i wrote this on MAY!!! Please pay attention to other people opinion!!!! Gonzalochileno (talk) 20:42, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This flag was approved by the council of the département, but not that of the région: thus this new flag is the flag of the département, but not of the région (although the two cover the same territory). French Guinea is primarily a region, albeit a region that has only one department. Given that the regional council has a right-wing majority, they are unlikely to pass the flag that features a red star. Kevin McE (talk) 16:48, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
ok, I've reverted the change. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 17:20, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought, I've included it as a local variant, as we've done for other similar flags. The default will still be the tricolour. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 16:37, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please can someone add

| flag alias-football=Flag of French Guiana.svg

to the template?

TheBigJagielka (talk) 01:07, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done After some fiddling about (it's not clear from the documentation pages how to make this work), I've made this edit and then this one, where it seems to display correctly. --Redrose64 (talk) 17:00, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Add | altvar={{{altvar}}} so that the flag used for association football can automatically display when calling {{Fb}}. The line | var2=football can be removed, as it shouldn't be identified as an alias. S.A. Julio (talk) 00:40, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@MSGJ: Apologies if it wasn't clear, but | flag alias-football=Flag of French Guiana.svg should stay. Only | var2=football needed to be removed, as the football alias only is used for a technical aspect involving the template {{Fb}}, so the alias doesn't need to be mentioned in documentation (local alias already exists for the same flag). Sorry, now  Fixed — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:53, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
