improved template functionality

I've implemented an improved version of this template at pt:predefinição:compfundcat, which is based on a generic "years in a decade of a certain millenium" navbar implemented as pt:predefinição:Cat década anos. Due to the extention at which this template is used, I chose not to implement it myself as it would require quite a lot of edits. 2010?

Missing parent category?

Category:Companies by year of establishment is a child of Category:Organizations by year of establishment so why is this template producing, for example, Category:Companies established in 1916 as a child of Categories: 1916 in economics,1916 establishments, and Companies established in the 1910s but not Category:Organizations established in 1916?
