This revision was just utterly wrong all around. The displayed name should be the one the person was known by during their time as chancellor of the exchequer, not later on. Don't change content unless you have some idea what you're doing. john k (talk) 03:36, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
Template:British Chancellors of the Exchequer
[edit]I am wondering if given the existence of the very similar Template:British Chancellors of the Exchequer, if both templates are actually needed and could not be combined into one? Dunarc (talk) 18:59, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for this. I have redirected the other template to the this one. If anyone objects, please feel free to revert and we can discuss on WP:TFD. It is a bit bizarre that two should exist. Looking into this histories, {{Chancellors of the Exchequer}} was created in 2006 and was updated regularly. Then it seems the pretty much identical {{British Chancellors of the Exchequer}} was created in 2019 and for some reason most of the pages linked to {{Chancellors of the Exchequer}} were switched to this template. I don't know why the original template wasn't just updated. --Philip Stevens (talk) 11:41, 15 February 2020 (UTC)
