Showcount

[edit]

Do we need the showcount parameter anymore? Three days after this template was implemented, the subcategory count was enabled across the whole site. See here: Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/Archive 52#Category counter I've checked the current transclusions and none are using this parameter. I suppose we could keep the parameter and change the documentation to show only how to turn off the count, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that as the count is so useful. Missing [+] signs

[edit]

I posted the following at mw:Extension talk:CategoryTree#Missing_.5B.2B.5D_signs_again :

In the last few days the category extension has been missing [+] links in en.wikipedia.org and commons.wikimeda.org. The symptoms are as described in "Missing [+] signs" above. There are no recent bugs listed in bugzilla for this problem, does anyone know the status? -84user (talk) 02:10, 25 November 2009 (UTC))[reply]

False alarm, I had Javascript disabled. -84user (talk) 02:55, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

200 limit

[edit]

Is it a bug or a known limitation that this will only list the first 200 items? Should it be documented or is there a way for it to know there are more than 200 and warn the user, similar to the one that appears on the category pages in these cases ("The following 200 pages are in this category, ...")? —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 04:31, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
