Completeness
[edit]Is this list supposed to be complete? I'm just wondering whether the various bays, most of them would also be settlements, should be listed here? Schwede66 (talk) 06:00, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Template usage
[edit]I'm wondering why this template isn't appended to the Banks Peninsula and Port Hills articles. Is that not the done thing? To me, it would appear logical to do so, given that the template title lists these pages as the area that it applies to. Schwede66 21:41, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- No response, so I've added the template. Schwede66 23:39, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Cracroft
[edit]From the most recent edit summary: "rem cracroft (not a suburb)" What is the evidence for that? I've always known it as a suburb, named after John Cracroft Wilson. He built what is now the Cracroft Community Centre. When you zoom in on the Google map, you'll see Cracroft appear as a locality. And until a few years ago, you could catch a bus that had Cracroft as its destination. I'll leave a note on the editor's talk page, but if there isn't any evidence that Cracroft is not a suburb, I'll add it back. Schwede66 23:39, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- You may well be right, my source was a 2006 street map that unambiguously marked it a "local name" and did not list it in its suburbs guide. However I note that NZ Post (when I tried a street location there) marks it as a postal locality with postcode 8025. It may well be the locality has been certified as a suburb since the street map I have was produced (I checked three other similar cases and none of them work on NZ Post). - Thanks, have put it back. By the way, Cracroft is also included the the Christchurch suburbs template. Schwede66 03:14, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
