I approve of the template but I've made a few changes:
I've removed products, there are just too many (even if you only made it "signifcant products". The original list didn't include some of the most important products; e.g. CVF, Typhoon or any mention of Airbus!
I've made the distinction between subsidiaries and JVs.
To list Land Systems and UDI is at the minute strictly correct but in effect they are the same unit, or will be when the company completes the merger of the two divisions. Mark8312:29, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Mark, thanks for your update to the template. The distinction between subsidiaries and joint ventures is very helpful. I wanted to show you some other templates to demonstrate how much information can be included - Template:News Corporation, Template:Time Warner, Template:Viacom, and templates listed at List of First Nations. I would add that while it may be appropriate to omit a product/asset from the template due to space constraints, I believe it would still be appropriate to include the template on that product/asset's Wikipedia article page, as it is directly related to BAE Systems. I agree with your last comment. Though even that could lead to problems; do you really want a BAE Systems template, along with hypothetical EADS and Finmeccanica templates at the bottom of the Eurofighter page? Regarding the other templates, e.g. NewsCorp. The problem is what to include and what to exclude? I added newspapers to the template as there was previously no mention of them, but where do you draw the line? The full list of NewsCorp papers would be: The Australian, The Weekend Australian The Courier-Mail, The Sunday Mail, The Cairns Post, The Gold Coast Bulletin, The Townsville Bulletin, The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, The Herald Sun, The Sunday Herald Sun (Victoria), The Weekly Times, MX, The Geelong Advertiser, The Advertiser, The Sunday Mail, The Sunday Times, The Mercury, The Sunday Tasmanian, The Sunday Territorian, Fiji Times, Papua New Guinea Post-Courier, The Sun, News of the World, The Sunday Times, The Times, The Times Educational Supplement, The Times Literary Supplement, New York Post Who's to say whether this information is more or less important than the list of Fox stations? To answer my own question I suppose its just compromise. Mark8315:26, 21 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
