Link between VNNTM and AsiasNTM
[edit]VNNTM was on behalf of AsiasNTM to cast girls that represented the country in Asia's Next Top Model. The final selection is from AsiasNTM casting team. TanPhat Nguyen talk- -contrb 03:24, 11 February 2013 (UTC).
Flags
[edit]Please stop adding the flags. This fails MOS:FLAG. Flags should not be used to show the nationality of an individual that participated in a television show. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:21, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Nope, the use of flags here passes MOS:FLAG. Asia's Next Top Model is not a TV show per se, it is a modeling competition (with a similar-ish format to a pageant) within a TV show. Contestants do represent their countries, it's not just their nationality. Linguist Moi? Moi. 09:29, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
- It absolutely fails WP:MOSFLAG and this absolutely is a TV show. The individuals are representing themselves, not their nation. Even if they were, usage wouldn't be recommended here. Not even {{Eurovision Song Contest}} or {{Nations at the Olympics}} use flags. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:32, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) According to MOS:FLAG,
Flag icons may be relevant in some subject areas, where the subject actually represents that country, government, or nationality – such as military units, government officials, or national sports teams.
Note that it sayssuch as
; it doesn't list pageants, but flag icons are used in pageant templates, and appropriately so, and are appropriate used here as contestants do represent their countries in this contest within a television show. I don't see how the fact that AsNTM is a television show makes it an exception to this policy. Linguist Moi? Moi. 09:40, 15 November 2016 (UTC)- Firstly, there is no way that an individual participating in a reality show passes the criteria
where the subject actually represents that country, government, or nationality
, and secondly, it's also referring to usage in articles, and not navboxes. If you keep reading the guideline, you'll see multiple reasons why it's even less acceptable here:"The name of a flag's political entity should appear adjacent to the first use of the flag, as no reader is familiar with every flag, and many flags differ only in minor details"
;"placing a national flag next to something can make its nationality or location seem to be of greater significance than other things"
, etc, etc. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:48, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

Links to other shows in the franchise
[edit]These should not be here per WP:BIDIRECTIONAL. Navigation between these programs dealt with at {{Top Model}}. --Rob Sinden (talk) 09:26, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
