Candidate Example (talk · contribs) withdraws from the 2008 Arbitration Committee Elections.
The user is supposed to withdraw by adding {{Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2008/Candidate statements/Withdrawn}} and {{Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2008/Candidate statements/Withdrawn-bottom}}, to Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2008/Candidate statements/Example, his candidate statement page.
He did so in this edit. Open that edit, and from the URL bar, take the "diff number": it should come after &diff=.... In this case, the number is 238127361.
We also need the date he withdrew. That is also in the diff -- in other words, it is the time he made the edit to withdraw. This date/time is 12:38, 13 September 2008.
Hence we use {{Withdrawn candidate|Example|238127361|12:38, 13 September 2008}}.
It's complicated. If you don't understand, probably best to leave to somebody else. ;)
