[edit]Note: If you spot anything which you think may need correcting or have suggestions for improvement, please feel free to mention it on the talk page.
The {{WikiProject Indigenous peoples of the Americas}}, short name {{WPIPA}}, project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:
{{WikiProject Indigenous peoples of the Americas
|class=
|importance=
|listas=
|attention=
|needs-infobox=
}}
General parameters:
- class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details.
- importance – a rating of the article's importance; see the assessment department for more details.
- attention – "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; this parameter should be used sparingly. It adds article to Category:Indigenous peoples of the Americas articles needing attention.
- needs-infobox – "yes" if the article needs an infobox added or updated. It adds article to Category:Ethnic groups articles needing infoboxes. If updating is needed, discuss on talk page.
To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to omit from the template any unused parameters.
