Template:Welcome-suboptimal/doc
Appearance
This is a documentation subpage for Template:Welcome-suboptimal. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template should always be substituted (i.e., use {{subst:Welcome-suboptimal}} ). Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
Purpose
[edit]This template is similar to Template:Welcome-unconstructive, in that it's there to welcome users whose (non-vandalism) edits have been reverted. However, this template is oriented towards contributions that were clearly intended to be constructive, but were removed.
Examples:
- A user adds information to an article, but the same information is already present (in different wording) elsewhere in the article.
- A user makes a contribution that violates policy or convention in a minor way, and is clearly just a flawed attempt to improve the article.
Usage
[edit]To use this template, add {{subst:Welcome-suboptimal}}
to the user's talk page.
Parameters:
- The relevant page:
{{subst:Welcome-suboptimal|Article}}
identifies the article where the suboptimal contribution occurred. - Your user name:
{{subst:Welcome-suboptimal|Article|Username}}
adds a link to your talk page in the welcome message. - If notitle is set, for example notitle=yes, then the "Welcome" title is not displayed.
