Template:Users local time
Appearance
It is 19:00 where this user lives. ( )
See also: Template:Userbox time
This template can be used to show a user's local time. This is especially useful on user talk pages where the listed time zone may suggest how responsive the user will be to inquiries.
Note: Many Wikipedia pages display a cached version of the page to reduce server load, so this template will only reflect the current time as of when the page was last parsed.
Usage
[edit]{{user local time|''UTC offset''}}
- Where UTC offset is the numerical offset value of UTC in hours. This can be fractional such as +3.5 or normal time format such as +03:30. See the list of UTC time offsets to find the UTC offset value of a given location.
{{user local time|tz=''timezone identifier''}}
- Where timezone identifier is the abbreviation for the time zone. See the List of time zone abbreviations to find the value of a given location. Uses Template:Time/Helper to determine the current time in that zone and takes into account things like DST
{{user local time|location=''location name''}}
- Where location name is the name of the user's location. A wikilink will be generated if an article with the same name exists.
{{user local time|ampm=y}}
- Shows the time in 12-hour format.
{{user local time|around=y}}
- This prefixes the word "around" before the time. This is because many Wikipedia pages are cached (see note above), and also that templates are transcluded and sometimes may lag due to server load. This means the time may not necessarily be current.
{{user local time|small=y}}
- Only include this parameter if you want the purge link to display as the letter P instead of the full word to save space.
{{user local time|day or night=y}}
- Displays whether it is day or night (7-18 o'clock).
