Template:User country/doc
This is a documentation subpage for Template:User country. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template is for a Country Userbox and adds a userbox to your user page.
Usage
[edit]Place {{User country}}
anywhere on your user page where you want the userbox to appear.
This template is based on {{Userbox}}
.
After placing the template, add a vertical bar (|) followed by your country name. For example, if your country is Mexico, you would write {{User country|Mexico}}
.
Parameters
[edit]If you want your country's name to have "the" before it, add the=true. This will add a "the" in front of your country's name, adding more grammatical clarity. If this variable is not invoked, "the" will not appear. Additionally, if you were born in a state, province, territory, city, county, oblast, or a micronation, you can do state=true, province=true, territory=true, city=true, county=true, oblast=true, or micronation=true to signify where you are from. If you choose county, make sure to put the states name afterward. Example: Instead of El Paso County, make it El Paso County, Texas.
Your country must have a link and a flag icon, or the template may not work.
The code works by changing the variable ({{{1}}}) inside the template to automatically insert your country's name into a link and display a flag icon.
The finalized template will look similar to this
This user was born in Mexico |
If the use_the=true, it will look like this
This user was born in Mexico |
