NOTE: This navbox is only for those agencies whose primary mission is the collection and/or analysis of data. Many other federal agencies conduct statistical analyses, but they don't belong on here. Only 13 agencies are defined by OMB as "principal agencies" of the federal statistical system.

As defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, the principal agencies of the Federal Statistical System have statistical activities as their core mission and conduct much of the government’s statistical work.
