This template displays formatted text with an appropriate link for National Cycle Network routes in the United Kingdom.

Adding the optional parameter |regional=yes or |reg=yes will change from a national to a regional route:

• {{UK NCN route|route=141|regional=yes}} →  141 
• {{UK NCN route|141|reg=y}} →  141 

Note: regional routes are not wikilinked.

The default height for the route number is 12 pixels, but this can be changed by specifying a different value for the optional |height= parameter:

• {{UK NCN route|route=72}} →  72 
• {{UK NCN route|72|height=20}} →  72 

Adding the optional parameter |symbol=false or |symbol=no or |symbol=n will omit the cycle route symbol (e.g. for use in a list):

• {{UK NCN route|7|symbol=false}} →   7 
• {{UK NCN route|72|symbol=no}} →   72 
• {{UK NCN route|725|symbol=n}} →   725
