Purpose

This template adds an external link to an entry in the Treccani Encyclopedia, or Enciclopedia italiana, but not to other resources on Treccani website.

Parameters

  • {{{1}}}: the location of the entry at the Treccani website, without the following _%28Enciclopedia-Italiana%29/, or _(Enciclopedia-Italiana)/. For example, the entry "DE BOSIS, Adolfo", with the URL http://www.treccani.it/enciclopedia/adolfo-de-bosis_%28Enciclopedia-Italiana%29/ , will be said to have a location of adolfo-de-bosis.
  • {{{2}}}: the title of the entry (defaults to the title of the Wikipedia page)
  • {{{3}}}: the author, when available, is in bold type under the title
  • {{{4}}}: the volume, translated. e.g. for II Appendice, use Appendix II
  • {{{5}}}: the year, when given.

Examples and usage

Suppose you want to add an external link to Treccani's article on Adolfo De Bosis. The location of this entry at Treccani's website is at adolfo-de-bosis, the title of the entry is "Adolfo De Bosis". In this case, the author is missing so an empty placeholder was put instead a fourth parameter. the year is 1931. The code

will produce the link
